Glen Matlock (akustisk):
Legenden, bassisten og låtskriveren fra Sex Pistols og nå The Faces tar oss med på en reise gjennom sin fargerike karriere og viser oss hvorfor han blir ansett som en av rockehistoriens viktigste artister og låtskriver. Vi får Sex Pistols, Rich Kids, Faces, King Mob og Philistines låter servert som sikkerhetsnåler på en snor! Her får du Matlock “up close and personal” i en unik akustisk setting.

Glen Matlock har co-skrevet 10 av de 12 låtene på “Never Mind the Bollocks.. Here’s the Sex Pistols” – det eneste ordentlige albumet Sex Pistols ga ut, og står bak låter som “Anarchy in the U.K”, “Pretty Vacant” og “God Save the Queen”. Dette er en gylden mulighet til å møte en legende som har vært med på å prege punken og musikkhistorien de siste 30-årene.

Glen Matlock (born 27 August 1956, Paddington, West London) is an English bass guitarist most famous for being in the original line-up of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. Drummer Paul Cook has said that Matlock came up with much of the music for the band’s songs and most of the lyrics, while lead singer Johnny Rotten made some adjustments. Matlock is credited as a co-author on 10 of the 12 songs on Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. He also continues to make his own records and tour with various bands, including the Sex Pistols.

Blodig Alvor:
Ålesund-bandet Blodig Alvor ga i fjor ut et av de råeste debutalbumene i Norge noensinne – ni egenkomponerte låter som sparker hardt!

Kompisgjengen fant det naturlig å spille musikk i ånden av sine egne favoritter, og platen vil kunne gi assosiasjoner til norsk rock, så vel som punk og metall. Platen er et resultat av hardt arbeid og et intenst ønske om å formidle deres egen musikk.

“Som en følge av manglende kunnskaper i engelsk og en visjon om at musikken vår skal bestå av et budskap såfremt som fengende punkrock, er alle tekster skrevet på norsk” sier vokalist og gitarist Markus den Ouden. Tekstene på denne platen er en slags oppsummering av våre egne hjertesaker og er en salat bestående av samfunnskritikk og ellers andre negative følelser og hinder et menneske kan støte på.

Bandet har i seg selv bestått i drøye to år og på den tiden har de gjort unna i overkant av 30 konserter rundt omkring i landet. Vendepunktet kom da de vant Raumarock sin konkurranse om spilletid før Raga Rockers. Siden den gang har de hatt flere seriøse spillejobber og jobbet seg oppover topplistene på NRK-urørt. De ble også belønnet med spilletid, anbefaling og omtale i programmet urørt på P3.

Blodig Alvor har stått for all promotering, innspilling og utgivelse selv. “Etter utallige søknader hos flere stipendiat og flere spillejobber er endelig debutalbumet en realitet og vi er klare for å ta steget videre” sier den Ouden.

Bandet ble i Januar signert av Rocknrolla Live og Indie Distribution som lanserer albumet med brask og bram 1.Mai med påfølgende turne´over hele Skandinavia! La Revolusjonen begynne!

Steinar Albrigsten:
Steinar Albrigtsen er født i Hammerfest i Finnmark, men vaks opp i Tromsdalen. Etterkvart som han flytta til Tromsø, vart han kjent med Jørn Hoel. Saman debuterte dei i scenesamanheng i 15-årsalderen. Albrigtsen brukte mykje av 1970- og 1980-tallet til å finne seg til rette musikalsk. I løpet av desse åra besøkte han så og sei kvar krik og krok i Norge, òg som gatemusikar.

Noregs mest kjente cowboy starta som plateartist i 1990. Debutalbumet «Alone Too Long» sette fart i countryinteressa hjå mange nordmenn, og han selde utrulege 180 000 album. Skjønt debut – han hadde allereie tusenvis av svorne fans landet rundt etter nesten ti år på vegen.

Sjømannssønnen frå Hammerfest er framfor nokon sjølve sjefsryttaren i den rootsrevivalen som bles rundt husveggane til dei tusen heimane på nittitallet. Men det vert feil å kalle ham for ein einsam ryttar. Han og kompiskollegaen Jørn Hoel har kjent kvarandre sidan dei var seks, og spelt saman sidan dei var 12. Då starta dei bandet Happy, som vart raskt omdøypt til Thunder Birds, før dei danna duoen Jørn og Steinar.

Det var på den tida Steinar traff andrestemma, og slik vart dei to herrane smidd saman musikalsk. I 1986 sto karane på Grand Prix-scena og framførte sin felles venn David Chôcrons sang «Inkululeko», og i 1997 kom fellesalbumet «Get Together». I 1998 sto dei saman med Øyvind «Elg» Elgenes for den offisielle «Drillos til fotball-VM»-songen «Let’s Do It». I sine yngre år jobba gutane hardt under Albrigtsens livsmotto «Grip ettermiddagen» for å oppretthalde mytane som omgir unge mannlege rockemusikarar.

Tredjemann i følget er den irske låtskrivaren Tom Pacheo, no busett i Woodstock. Tom og Steinar traff kvarandre tilfeldig i 1991, først på flyplassen i Bodø og nokon dagar seinare i Texas. Tom tok til å levere låtar til Steinar si andre plate, og sidan har dei samarbeida.

Det er på den amerikanske landsbygda vi finn Albrigtsen sine røter, men han har andre sider i seg enn den dypblå countryen han er mest kjent for. I 1996 bytta han for en kort stund ut lærvesten med ei silkemyk frynsjeskjorte på albumet «Life Is Good», der han viska ut skillelinjene mellom country, blues og jazz på ein overbevisande måte. Albrigtsen har i årevis gjort ein stor innsats for Frelsesarmeen gjennom «Julemusikantene». I 2011 ga han ut eit album der han tolka den amerikanske visesangeren Jim Croce på norsk, Bilda fra ei anna tid.

The Cynics:
Formed in 1983 by Get Hip Recordings owner Gregg Kostelich, The CYNICS are a Garage-Punk institution.

Guitarist/producer/record company head Gregg Kostelich is the frenetic force behind THE CYNICS. He managed to keep the band afloat in the wake of constant personnel changes, he recorded some of the finest garage tracks ever, and also launched one of the best independent record labels of the 1980s. THE CYNICS’ style has been clear since their 1983 inception: fuzzed ultra-distorted guitar, screaming, moaning vocals, with a straight-ahead no frills rhythm section. The influences are extreme ‘60s Punk, R&B, and other loud, frantic trash. Gregg has occasionally steered the band into flirtations with folk-rock and little pop, but it’s the grunged-out punkers that have created THE CYNICS’ reputation. Their first two 45s were released by the Californian Dionysus label, but soon after Gregg had established his own Pittsburgh-based GET HIP RECORDS. This new indy label would release all of THE CYNICS subsequent discs, as well as those by several dozen other cool groups around the globe.

Though Gregg’s guitar is the backbone of the band, vocalist Michael Kastelic’s contribution to THE CYNICS sound cannot be underestimated. In concert (and on record) he screeches, wails, and moans with great abandon, while his frail, thin body shakes throughout the room. Michael is a truly possessed frontman. On and off bassist Steve Magee should also be noted for his fine artwork for both THE CYNICS and many of the GET HIP releases. The initial line-up featured the talents and 60’s looks of keyboard player Becky Smith. After she left the band in the late 80’s they stayed with the simple but strong guitar/singer/bass/drums that they currently display.

Each and every CYNICS release is a passage into the depths of simple, heartfelt punk rock. It should be noted that their live perfomances can be just as effective as their vinyl. A bit “harder rock” sound began to creep into band’s style as the ‘90s dawned. But with their last album “Get Our Way” they proved they haven’t forgotten any of their influences and once again you hear incursions into Garage, Punk, Folk-Rock and even Psych (with surprising farfisa and theremin parts in a couple songs).

In an interview on March 21, 1986, Gregg Kostelich said “I was maybe 4 or 5 when I started collecting Garage records, and I’ve been listening to that type of music ever since. And I was lucky enough to see a couple of shows I was a little kid…my parents would bring to see bands like THE SONICS and THE BLUE MAGOOS and THE WHO, when I was about 7 or 8! I didn’t know what was going on really, but it was really exciting. I was kinda embarrassed in a way because I was with my parents.” When I mentioned that this early exposure to garage music explained THE CYNICS style, Gregg responded “Yeah, maybe I got brain damage from all the noise!”.
